Hello Airsofters:

Below are a list of question related to a possible CQB Field opening in the South Florida Area. It would be really benefit the field to have the opinions of the airsofters this field would be designed for so if you could answer in the following format and below your answers put any additional imput in that you think would be useful would be greatly appreciated. I would not like this thread to be cluttered and turn into a discussion so if you would like to discuss your CQB Field Ideas here is a seperate thread for discussion below.

CQB Field Discussion

Example: 1)A 2)C 3)B 4)A 5)D 6)C 7)B 8)A 9)A 10)C

Questions:

1)How frequent would you travel to a field in North Miami:
A)Never
B)Once a Month
C)Weekly
D)More than once a week

2)How much would you expect to pay for all day play for Saturday and Sunday
A)$10
B)$15
C)$20
D)$25

3)Would you be interested in a 300 FPS limit for Full auto AEGs, 350 FPS for AEGs allowed to shoot in semi only (not permanent modification, just tagged for semi only) and 400 FPS for bolt action weapons (the field is being designed to be used with snipers in mind)
A)Yes
B)No
C)They FPS Limits need to be higher
D)I don't care about FPS Limits

4)What is the most important factor in choosing to purchase your airsoft items from a local retailer or pro shop versus online retailers
A)Price
B)Convenience
C)Knowledgeable Staff
D)Variety of Product
E)Reputation for Service

5)Would you be interested in Field sponsored leagues taking place on one of the slower nights (Monday through Thursday) that will feature prizes and banners posted in the staging areas listing the previous seasons winning teams
A)Yes
B)Yes, but as long as it was adults only
C)No
D)Possibly

6)For the design of the field it has been decided to make it a mix of long hallyways, rooms with windows designed to increase firefights, two story structures with overwatch over large areas to make sniper rifles useful, full paintjob (not just bare wood) and a lighting/sound system to enhance the immersion of the field. Does this general idea seem like a field you would be interested in?
A)Yes
B)Yes, but I think there is more needed
C)No
D)No, but I will discribe what I dislike below

7)The field has a Proshop, Lounge, Test Range and Staging Area planned. Is this all of the extra areas you would expect at a indoor cqb field?
A)Yes
B)Yes, but below I have put a good idea
C)No, but I will put whats listing below

8)Would you be interested in having a "volenteer" program for field refs that will allow those who give up their time to judge events or even regular game days a chance for free entry on a later date?
A)Yes
B)No
C)Yes, but I would rather pay and get to play
D)Yes, paying to play every week is out of my price range

9)Would you be interested in having monthly/quarterly/yearly memberships available that would allow entry whenever the field would be open at a discounted rate considering attendance twice a week? Note this will exclude special events and leagues will still need a small amount more to cover the prize pool, but the field fee portion will be covered by the membership.
A)Yes
B)No
C)Yes, but I couldn't pay for it all at once.

10)Would you like to recieve more information about this project as it moves forward?
A)Yes
B)No
C)I would have before you made this survey so dam long...

Thanks for your time everyone. Hopefully this survey will help make some decisions and will have some further information for you soon. There may be future surveys and I would like to thank you for your assistance now and in the future.

The reason I put D for number six is not because of the field design, but it's about the lighting/sound effects. I don't really have a problem with it but I just don't want to play with strobe lights or in the dark.

Thank you for your response in the correct format x305xANthOnY98.

Strobe lights aren't really even being considered as they can cause seizures. In fact they will probably not be allowed from flashlights during open play and restricted to either league or adult night.

There will be "low light" situations (dimmer switch) mixed with larger lights on pivots to simulate search lights. We may also have games were the attackers can "kill the lights" for scenario play, but this will mostly be something reserved for league night.

As per the initial post this thread is to garner information from the player base to gather market research to optimize the field for the South Florida Community and not for discussions. Information on the status and individual details will be released first to those who take the survey, because they are helping the project and second will be released on this and other websites as the project moves forward.

-How north miami? i live in NW, closer to Hollywood?
-The FPS mins should be 350 for full auto, 400 for semi, idk about snipers, never heard of a cqb place with them, 450? I'm taking this from the large amounts of CQB arenas in california, we should model our rules around theirs.. (Tac City)
-dont charge 10, at least 15, make a profit.
-Design/Field areas sound good, like again, Tac City, CQB city, etc..
-Limit the adult only games, the profit are in the Kids/teenagers.
-Monthly membership is awesome.

edit: and full face masks, paintaball styled should be required, for anyone.

Thank you for your imput Landa

North Miami will be the location because of the drop in property values there for commercial properties.

Due to quotes in insurance from companies that already insure airsoft fields the drop to 300 fps for full auto is the difference in cost is equal to the increase in cost to have two story structures. If we put the limit and impliment manditory full face protection for minors we can get rid of messy bang rules that cause problems (of course we will still have a madatory surrender rule if caught from behind). If the building we aquire can hold two story structures (min of 18ft clearance) then we will be doing 300fps for full auto, but will still have 350fps limits for semi auto limits for those who have only one rifle and want their aeg to be ready for both field and cqb.

The issues of snipers having a place at the field will deffinately be one of the hundreds of small things we are going to try to do to make the field unique and a spot where we can build a name as big as cqb city. With two story structures and long hallways in between structures snipers will have room to make the "long shot". Snipers will of course have a medium engagement distance for safety and be required to have a secondary weapon with them at all times.

The question for field fees is to gauge the price the local population thinks is reasonable for a cqb environment. For instance cqb city is up to $30 for a day pass for the weekends. That is of course too high for the local economy, but I want to gauge if possible half day prices would lead to higher attendance. If someone feels only $10 should be paid they probably would not mind paying that or slightly higher for a half day admission.

Profit is a very large concern and if not taken into account the field will fail withen the first year.

Adult games will be limited to most likely once a week unless there is enough interest to warrent more time. One of the reasons I am doing this survey is to gauge interest in adult only games to edit the interest in my buisness plan. One most of course weigh the cost with having the facility open on a off night vs the amount of income gained from entrance fees and entrances fees lost if the adult nights caused players to not attend the weekends when the profit margin verses overhead will be less.

Monthly membership design will mostly be created around multiple feedback factors. If their is low interest in unlimited entry then we may inplement a cost for so many entries per month, so that those with either limited time or a constantly changing schedule can still take advantage of it. If there is enough interest both will be made available. The cost of card readers has really come down in the last few years and may be used for memberships, if we get proper support we will be able to make the first card free with a small fee to replace lost membership cards.

I have created another thread for more discussion so that the survey thread will not be cluttered. The link is here and is as well now in the first post.

Thank you for the reply Mc_SourMonkey

Bathrooms are a good point, no one likes to have a messy bathroom. The solution to keeping them clean during normal operation is hourly checks.
