I have a UTG L96 it shoots about 460 to 490 and I would like to upgraded to 510+ This is a comprehensive guide as to the ways to upgrade your rifle. What do you have in there and what BBs are you using shooting 460 - 490? And my other question is this. What trigger are you using, if it is stock I highly doubt you are running that high with .20s. Your trigger would snap into little pieces. With an upgraded spring, you NEED to upgrade your trigger. Mixing and matching parts is never a good idea. What do you have in your rifle as of now? |

| Well as of now I'm using it how it is out of the box. Now my friend Shadow he upgraded his spring and air piston without upgrading his trigger and it shoots just fine. Well of coarse alot harder than a normal L96 but his trigger doesent break or anything. | |

| Out of the box means no work was done to it. Air piston? What make? And most pistons these days are actually heavier than the stock ones. Meaning you are actually losing fps instead of gaining. Not too mention with the stock cylinder and cylinder head you dont have perfect compression.
You can get as high fps gun as you like, but without affective range it's like having an 500 fps AEG and trying to hit targets at 200 thinking it will go in a straight line.
What you NEED to focus on is a tight bore barrel and a PDI hop up unit. Best investment money can buy on a rifle. You might also like to think about reading up on Shredder's Concave Spacer as well.
A sniper rifle is useless if you are not hitting what you are aiming at. Focus on that first then worry about the High fps. Because you gotta get that trigger if you go any higher (just to play it safe) |
