| My friend wants to get a CO2 Taurus with 420 Fps. He plans to use it as a back up. I'd like to knkow what the rules of engagement are because I don't think it'd be okay for a pistol that strong to be allowed but let me know. | |

i dont think he should be allowed to use it. the point of the pistol aside from than its faster to draw that than to reload is when youre very close to your opponent it has lower fps than your primary weapon. fps isnt everything, that amount on a pistol isnt needed at all.

| I had that pistol before a kid stole it from my bag at rage. It shoots about 400 on the dot. Which means its not good for cqb but could be used as say a snipers back with yout standerd 10 ft rule. | |

| i personally would say its not, but thats just me.. if he is willing to get shot point blank on skin with it, then i would consider. the reason why i say that is because pistols are primarily cqb. this raises a serious topic, high fps. if i told your buddy "hey hold still 2 feet away so i can shoot you with my ___ shooting 420-430 fps", most would likely reply "fuck you im not stupid!". then the irony, their gun shoots that hot also. so their perfectly fine inflicting unnecessary pain to others but wont take it themselves.. bottom line, as far as pistols are concerned, i would say 380 on a pistol should be the limit. not around 380, no, 380 fps solid limit for the reasons that its a pistol and is most commonly used for close to close-medium range. at that distance you dont need even 320 fps but most pistols shoot harder than that. | |

did you just tell me to be a man? watch it eagle... and i had a aeg dmr not long ago shooting 550fps (keep in mind i couldve also kicked it full auto since it was a AEG, and shot 16bbs/sec at 510fps) that i did take a shot from before bringing it to the field to make sure it wasnt too bad and what my minimum distance should be, so i know what it is to get shot high fps. but pistols and rifles and aegs are all different things. im simply saying what i believe should be the rules about pistols.

| i see both points but no one wants to go out with what looks like face herpes so a minimum engagement distance is a good idea/chrono | |

| First of all Eagle calm down. I never said I was scared, I just wanted to find out if it was alright to have one. Some places have limits. | |

exactly thats exactly what i said in my first post if you read back, so i obviously agree with Jester also. Ima drop a m155 spring in my g36 and shoot you people who are saying to "man up" *cough eagle and gonzalo* and shoot you from the same range as you would normally use a pistol (5-15 feet) and see how much you enjoy that experience. sound good?

i would agree, but ive been playing long enough to know that in the heat of a match that accidents happen and even up close sometimes bb's stray or your aim could be high or low. you cant always control where you hit, but you can control how hard. think about that real hard for a minute..
