Anyone who has an Ak47 rifle or even an M16 can play as a Vietcong soldier.

As you all might know I have played the role and have been steadily been making corrections for my weapons outfit and kit.

There are too many players dressed as American so maybe some of you would like to switch over to the ENEMY TEAMS!... LOL!

My study of the VC outfit shows that it is not too hard to assemble as most of the clothing is readilly available.

I found most of the important clothing at WALMART including the shoes!

Apparentlly the Vietcong aka VC or Victor/Charlie was the boogie man in the Vietnam war and was the true victor in the Vietnam war- Americans are still bitter about who these guys were and just by the fact that they were out lasted by these resistance fighters.

Note that these guys wore black and olive colored clothing...maybe something related to trying to be some sort of ninja/ Shinobi!

The VC were really peasant villagers and some really skilled farmers that were merelly trained and equiped with the readilly made AK47 and Russian gear. often the gear was also stolen from the American side!

Weapons:
AK47, Sniper , RPG,and other Russian communist gear as well as stolen captured US weapons and a few left over WW2 weapons, some American as well as Japanese. Boobie traps and often very nasty! also note: Machete or occational ancient sword!!!- you can aquire a good plastic fake machete at Halloween shops or go online, a really funny sort of knife kill!

Clothing:

VC hats were actually boonie hats, some official helmets and mostly the farmers straw hat did well and a black bandanna.Farmer hats had to be strapped on well and were often camoflagued- you can get these hats online or at some chinese gift shops and even sword dealers for around 10 dollars!

Charlie often blended well within the civilian population which wore chinese like kung foo shirts and pajama like pants...Black and olive were common in old photos. American clothing was sometimes taken off the dead as well as other captured gear! shirts worn often had 2 breast pockets and maybe a collar. you can aquire a kung foo shirt and pants set online or from a chinese gift shop. Improvized clothing can be found at WALMART.

Ak47 russian or Chinese ammo waist bag usually holds 3 clips... they feature chinese style wooden buttons!- Assessory found at Gun shows and at the Military surpluse as well as online.

Shoes:
Some wore stolen American gear, Sandles and Sandles made from old tires with leather straps, some wore Chinese kung foo shoes as well as nothing at all!- was able to find good kung foo shoes at WALMART , some beach shoes also look like these and will do nicelly. I have both kung foo shoes but have opted for using the beach shoes because they are not only comfortable , but just happen to really look the same!

I don't recommend sandles but there are so many modern versions of the same footwear that can pass as practical, use your imagination and retro fit shoes or go with the stolen boots senerio.

Advantages:
Unlike the US outfits and other soldier gear in the Jungle , Charlie wore light cool clothing that breathes so You will be able to run with one weapon set and still stay cool.

Fighting style:
Skirmish, often attacking out of nowhere - some suicide attacks. Heavy use of Machete.
Defending was rare, any one remember Hamburger hill? Often punished small villages and P.O.W.s
Booby traps- often stolen grenades and even claymore mines... please don't actually try the pit trap!

I will be happy to assist anyone who would like to try going as "CHARLIE" VietCong.

All you really need are Black Pajama or kung foo pants and a Black collored shirt or asian kung foo shirt and kung foo shoes or use of said beach shoes.

I may be able to loan a farmers hat and later offer some for sale because I have connections!
