any one else here good with photoshop?
i need a critic on my new sig.
i havent used photoshop since cs1 so im trying out new tools.

looks good but its like all the old styles i seen 8 years ago.

Thats a cool anime sig.

I had a Funny sig of myself and it was silly and maybe slowly began to irritate the guy who made it for me!

Now I use A more Seriouslooking Evil SandCastle for a Sig and -yes...I really do build these for a living!

yea lol i need to work on newer styles, to make it more modern, but i like this style, classics sometimes never die

Not bad, been a designer for over 11 years now. I use illustrator more than anything now, but photoshop is definitely good from time to time to have a little fun with. Ive starting getting into HDR and 3D with CS5, but using my own photos and not cheating with the HDR Filters built in now. You can check out some of my work at www.audiodzigns.com

i like to use renders then blend them together, as i did with this one. i made an archive webpage with my past work, pretty basic stuff nothing too fancy i used a free web making site lmao i aint paying nothing! i gotta fuel airsoft i cant afford to host my own website XDD

revised my sig, put a gradient map overlay

yea kinda new, one of my friends, i call the anime archive, told me.

most of the photoshop stuff ive done has been on my own, as a secondary hobby to airsoft. i did take 4 years of basic graphic design in high school but by the time i got there i was way past there skill level lol became head of the graphic design branch of my high schools TDA Academy. they even gave me a scholarship to full sail university, but i cant have someone tell me what they need and then i just make it for them. im better doing stuff i want to do, so i turned them down, n half of em almost fainted lol

I have been fortunate enough to be able to have a successful freelance business running for quite some time now. Helps pay the bills. I thought the same way when I was younger and in design school. Why stress over a client for a few bucks when I can just do it when I feel like it. Once I got older, that mentality changed when I charged someone to do a logo and they actually paid because I was good at what I did.

If you got the skill, extort it. Especially now, between social media, and general web media making a huge comeback the design industry is in need for actual artists than can understand art history, color theory and typography. Understanding the latest trends in not only photoshop, but illustrator and even after effects these days can really reel in a some money to get all the toys for airsoft.

yea i guess... but ive never wanted to go for graphic design as a career, ive always wanted to do something outside and hands on, i dont think i would be able to live being stuck in an office all day working on logos, that would drive me crazy. im too outdoorzy to do graphic design full time, but i will keep up and do little sigs like the one ive done now.

More than understandable. Thats why I work from home, I make my own hours, my weekends are for me and my family, no stress of idiot co workers or a cubicle. Just hang with my daughter and take breaks whenever I want. I really cant complain.

my moms cousin is a free lance graphic designer too so if i ever feel like going into graphic design business i can always work for her.
