.. I ran in a autocross race at Homestead Miami Speedway. Unfortunately I don't own a dash camera and I was unable to hire someone to take spectator photos due to lack of funds. However, I am happy to say that I managed to rank 3rd place today in my class (only out-beat by a fellow Rx8 driver/friend of mine who managed 2nd place, and a driver in a 350z with R-Compound racing tires (obviously he would win, he had best traction and was able to take the track the fastest because of this).
I am also very content with the fact that I had faster times than several other vehicles including a 07' BMW 325i, a 97' Lotus Esprit, and 07' Ford Shelby!
After the event was over and lunch break had passed, we went ahead and participated in several "fun runs" where our runs did not count for official times but we had a blast just pushing our abilities past our level of skill and taking more risks driving the track or practicing other skills like short drifts. All in all a very exciting afternoon for both spectators and participants.
