| This post is in relation to what was being said for the Saturday roll call to Foxhole. I have a couple of questions one being where is it? The other is more of "Why hasn't someone purchased the field or come to an agreement with the person who does (like the PB field) so that games can be regulated there safely and with out concern of officers coming by and having to explain what is going on and telling them nicely that you will vacate the premises if they happen to ask", what ever you believe in forbid that you get a cop having a bad day and does end up confiscating all your belongings. And I'm not sure if the money we pay for the PB field goes into the maintenance and construction of it; however if it does, and I know some of you may not like the idea of losing a renegade field where you play for free, then money can also go into this field and help build it into something better. | |

| i agree that we should have more than one field and that we should build in foxhole. but if you build on it someone else will bring it down since it is not privately owned | |

| I put my 2 cents into FOX HOLE!, Trust me I attended the place and kind of ruled it... you can almost say I live in the places I attend and build on!
Its a big field but its worthless without the full on attendance it should have gotten.
Unfortunatelly it was and still is a secret rebel field so not everyone in the airsoft community is going to know about it.
It is kept secret from the paintballers who may be spies so only a select group is trusted with the knowlege of this field.
Player attendance was rarely high... Check the old archives of my debriefs... I kept acurrate records of game days...turnouts were rarely ever high... 30 players was great but it soon dropped to less than 15 people..they all soon began to come late in the day and thus started burning out the early birds.
Now the players are reorganizing at a legal venue- PB MATRIX FIELD.
It is a structured enviornment that guarantees full on attendance because it is openly known to the general public....We need to maintain this population and not try to out source this with the other field...in effect you are watering down the sport by dividing our airsoft community onto 2 different fields...I say we all stay together and use the one dedicated offical field...Our attendance will help solidify a more permanent and dedicated field that will be ever evolving.
Right now I am seeing impatient players who want to just play in the woods but the problem is that our airsoft community is still too small!... we all need to stand together united and make the field we offically got work- even if it seems broken- we must attend and fix it- that is if you want to ensure an offical airsoft future.
Going to Fox hole - and This is a what if, ...what if everyone cut out for Fox hole and left PB matrix field high and dry....It would wither, die, and eventually close down....so too will the Fox Hole....It too will one day be gobbled up by the property management board and eventually turned into a housing project , school,or add on to an existing park....maybe not for a few years but hey it could happen any time!
If PB MATRIX field is backed up by our seasoned dedicated crew...I am sure that say in a few years it too would have evolved!...It has already been 6 months since I left FOXHOLE for California on my vacation, upon my return I found out that the attendance fell so bad it wasn't worth going!
Enter PB Matrix field: In the first few months I attended I saw no more need to take a hike up to Extreme rage paintball field...but I was free and able to do radical construction along side the owner, Leo, Ron and a few inspired players. The Creation of Tire bases were formed as well as pipe bunkers, which required my personal gathering of field resources...This base took many shapes as it was constantlly being removed for your spoiled pleasure.
By November the iritating trailer was removed from the field and a German bunker , Jap bunker , and a USA base with a huge tower was created.
In December, The creation of trenches and more open spaces have been prepared...The Field is even being cleaned of dangerious objects...I personally pulled out hundreds of pounds of Glass, Jagged metal and had to wire cut barbwire.
Please do not forget how much progress this field is making. I am planning to mount machine guns and mortar defences....but ROME CANNOT BE BUILT IN A DAY!
Stick around, Trust me and you will see, If all goes well, this battlefield will be as epic as one of my famous sandcastles....and I do plan to put this place on the Fukkin map! I don't Own it, but its a dedicated field for dedicated players! Stand Loyal and fly the dedicated colors!....Maybe there should be more nuts like me who agree!

| SandDragon I agree with you with some of what you said to a degree. But I bring up foxhole as another field to be used because of the congestion that PB faces on some days. My experience last Saturday was one of two teams with 25 people on each side, and for me and a few others wasn't such a great day to play because the PB field is an outdoor CQB-esque type field. And when you have a game that can't move because 10+ people are pinning you and your squad of 5 down and have a hill/base/angle advantage on you it gets boring when nothing happens. And the rest of you other 20 "teammates" are just lying in the back not wanting to do much because they don't want to get hit since there is no respawn. Just a variety of fields would be nice since the PB field is small, and from my perspective can't handle/hold anymore than 30 people total and even then that's going slightly over the edge of the limit, so having a larger/more spacious field that can hold an attendance of 35-40+ evenly with plenty of room to spare would be great for any one who may start getting tired of paying 15$ to just "sit back in a corner because they don't want to get hit since they are the only ones willing to push up but there is no point since you will immediately get lit up by 5-15 guys all going full auto to just the one guy willing to run out and play the objective. And no body wants 5-15 guys with 20 RPS guns shooting at him/her in unison. | |

| And in regards to its size, location, and kind of players; how big is it? Where is it? And what kind of players go to it (are they nice, do they call their hits, etc...) and how many go? | |

| Hotshots is a pretty long drive up into WPB and they do get some rather large games going sometimes.
If you check out Miamiairsoft's facebook apparently they are close to finally getting their CQB field going in Hialeah. Hopefully it will work out.
In all reality you are going to need small fields open up and start to see some sort of profit before anyone will invest the type of capitol you see put into fields like Desert Fox.
The more you all try to get illegal fields started the less anyone will want to invest in a real field. Why spend the capitol to invest in building a field of high quality if people are just going to try to go play at the free field.

Repo has a point about outsoucesing venued fields with the reble fields...no one is going to invest in a great field if you slap them in the face by going to the field that will not really benifite the sport... I call it duct taping a wound! 30 or more people is actually great attendance at PB matrix field!...This is actually a good sign!... Sorry My Ninja friend but you are going to have to start forming better teams...and study the field so that you can better your sneaky attacks!....It is true that it is getting CQBish but the owner told me and Leo that he may open up another connecting section later on and thus double the size of the PB matrix field. My only Challenging problem and all of yours too...is to get player attendance profetable enough to motivate him to open up that other section of field. This field has a huge parking lot that can also be altered if you can think outside the box...some major modifications of the usage of the land can open up more battlefield. Also playing organized games is in need of work...maybe full auto limits, respawns, time limits. as well as starting games in different spots on the map can help...so far I have tried to offer better games and assist the referees... You should take into account that this is a delicate era of construction and organization for not only the field but for our airsoft community. Ultimatelly I need you all to rally up all the potential airsofters you know and get them online on both this forum as well as attending the official venued fields. We will need to support these fields as well as create organized teams, help others, andyou will need to toss out that Video gaming bullshit attitude we often see online if all does not go well...This you partake in a social event... the person you may be owning could very well be your allie on the next game...Try not to actually show up to create enemys on the field- help it grow in every way. Rebel fields should only be seen as a desperate last measure... This is not the Silo era!...It was good in its day but maybe it is time to make it fun and safe for the gereral public who will BBQ and bring all their family and friends... DEBRIEF: SILO... The Day it Closed! I was not currentlly a member on this forum but a new airsofter from California just trying to find out where the action was. I just finished a paint ball battle tank and had a war with Leo using 1/6th scale RC tanks... then I sold one tank for a new Echo 1 AK47 CPW I had a few weekend runs at the Silo off Chrome avenue and even shot up a beehive... LOL! Then it all came to a crashing end one 3pm The Police arrived and started telling people to leave as well as singling out a few guys with big guns...I very quietlly packed up and left the scene and went back to the PB matrix shop to tell all. I actually did not know where players were holding court so I spent a month or so before I ran into other players who knew a spot. The Reble fields were only good for a while...I think I found my calling. The Problem is to address the problem of the fields, build and protect them. we will need to reform our ranks and also get our players deployed onto the offical venue fields. We cannot water down our forces by splitting them up by holding multiple roll calls- Then no one will be certain which field to attend, in effect- everyone loses! This is why we must keep our ranks tight and united...Stay with the unit, Don't be a straggler! | |
