what should i do?

i have been wanting to put a red dot sight on m4...but i would either have to buy the rail so that can look over the front iron sight....or shave down or some how take of the front iron sight...what should i do and any suggestions?

leave it as is, it wont hinder your aim

you actually will get better effectiveness with the sight there as you will naturally line your eye with the dot and sight to your target.

Agree leave the front sight. Because if your battery dies you have it to aim at your target

eotech or acog style are the best looking ones.

you can get an aimpoint style red dot with a cantilever mount as well but i recommend eotech or acog models

for an m4 get an acog cause the boult in riser is perfect for the front sights lines everything up very nicely

ive tried eotech styles they dont work well on an m4, i love my acog its high enough for a face mask and the iron sights are centered perfectly
