| What would you do you think is better an AK variant or an M4/M16 variant? And why? (airsoft wise) It's an argument that has been going on since I can remember, I just want to see your opinions.

| I think that it would be any M4 based airsoft gun since they're popular,have easy mechanics(for internal repairs,ect.),and a good varity of upgrades/accessories. | |

| i agree with the m4 but the ak's are a bit more reliable and since it has the motor cage you don't need to adjust the motor height. | |

| A good m4 for a starter is easier to find than a good ak. | |

| I love M4's...my first aeg was an m4. Though now, I would rather get on of the AK variants. Idk about you guys, but I don't fill my RIS to the brim with accessories, thus I really don't need that much rail space. So for me, it's not a problem. Second, no one really uses AK's...they all have M4's. They're different. Third, it uses the version 3 gearbox. Sure not as many people use it, but that doesn't mean it's harder to find parts for it. Along with the third point, the v3 gearbox also has a motor cage, as per stated above. Fourth, AK's use a slider-type hop-up system; the m4 uses the wheel hop up system, which you can argue which is better, though from what i've heard AK's usually have better hop ups. Fourthly, AK's are usually cheaper than an m4, CYMA makes great AK's for up to $150, where your started, skirmish ready m4 is priced right around that mark. Even so, the m4's are made out of some weird pot-metal or aluminum that isn't really that good, whereas the AK's from dboys, cyma, and even some jg's are made out of steel. Another point, AK's will usually have a much longer inner barrel, whereas the m4 barrel is around 60-100mm shorter.
THIS BEING SAID--
M4's have a PLETHORA of customizability. You can do WHATEVER you want on the externals of the gun. There's a lot more you can do with an M4 that you just can't on an AK. Apart from this, M4's come already installed with a top rail, so mounting optics is incredibly simple, however you do need to buy a top rail separately when you're dealing with an AK. I've also heard stories about the pistol grip, where you can change out the pistol grip to whatever one suits your needs, however there aren't much options for an AK. Apart from that, the iron sights are so much shittier on the AK. you really can't do much with them, but the m4 variants are much more flexible. Lastly, the mag. People don't really like the AK mag over the M4, because it is so big. Though it can hold more rounds than the m4, the AK mags are really tall.
In conclusion, the AK and M4 both have their pro's and cons. For my next aeg purchase, I wouldn't buy either. I wouldn't get the m4 cause everyone has one, and the AK isn't really my choice of weapon, i don't really like the way it looks. I would get something different, like a SIG, G36C, or MK16/SCAR-L.

| I love AK types for the athetics, love that wood and metal feel!
The Gun also is easy for those who just want to spend so much on a milisim outfit....it is actually easy to do a costume load out simulating an insurgent or even vietcong!
Aks really shine when combined with an automatic drum mag...Such guns like the RPK and ak74U give interesting choices so If you Like the color of Red then maybe the Red army is for you!
Nations who use this weapon variant are just about, all third world or USA Haters...
CUBA SOVIET UNION- Modern RUSSIA AFRICA THE MIDDLE EAST CHINA
It is a well like gun style , even though it is politically disliked just because it represents communisim and is found in all those area.
If you see it, you know you are in a war zone!

If you see it, you know you are in a war zone! Reason being is because they are cheap to make and can last through ANYTHING!

| CYMA AK-47 / AK-74 make nice guns. very good range stock, good ROF, built like a tank, will easily last a few years after a shim/re-lube job
JG/G&G/SRC all have decent/cheap M4's of all flavors. M4's (in my opinion) are more versatile and easy to maintain, but seem to need more tuning to get up to speed. (hop up, etc.)

| Not so sure about G&G in regards to tuning. My old combat machine lasted for over a year stock, and it wasn't until I decided to run an 11.1 LiPo in it that I managed to fry the wiring. So now its a parts gun. But for what its worth, the gun shot like a dream and is really competitive for its price. | |

they're good stock, got the mp5 combat machine (same gearbox/motor) but for instance, JG needs shim, lube, better hop up bucking and nub to start with. luckily M4's are easy to work on.

| Like it was said earlier both guns have pros and cons, and honestly that should always go with out saying and should be considered for practically everything in life. If you don't want and old school AK and think you can't make an AK look completely bad ass and modern because of the lack of customization it has, trust me don't worry here's and example. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WuMNKjZY0Q | |

| To be honest, If i had to choose one. M4. All the way. Dont even need to explain myself because of reasons already stated Now on the contrary, I'd rather have neither. Im the type of guy to have a gun that nobody else does, and if other people have it, I want it to outperform and be more reliable. Thus I commonly run my Scar-L (Upgraded by me to 18bps 9.6v) or my MP5A4 which is somewhat upgraded. Mostly my scar though. And the M4 variant I have is the M4-S System to be original. Like I said before, I like having guns that most people dont have. Now I can add on to that list but thats just my 2 cents. | |
