Alot of attention and money may go into airsoft, both as a sport and a hobby. The sport kinda guys may only foucus on the game play action and bare essentuals. Getting into the Hobby of realism some airsofters may spend a few more than the usual money buying vintage Military outfits to show off on game day.
The word Cosplay comes to mind, but it could also imply anyone who dressed up as a simulated character, fictional or real. Let's just say Cosplay attention to detail on any outfit is not going to be cheap and if at all, almost a passion of the hobby in a whole other level.
Not to be mocked as some sort of dress up...that would be something any poor ass n00b would spit out!....Players who took the attentive time to do this sort of thing usually have a further detailed knowlege of the History of the Cosplay action figure they are trying to simulate for their airsoft game action.
For the Uniformed airsofters and teams It is also a very good visual indicator of individual pride and further enhances the hype of game days. Take a really good look at one of these guys in their detail to military cosplay and you may notice that they may have desided to carry more or less gear depending the simulated roll they are trying to play. further more some outfits also may not provide much armor protection at all!- so hits are easily and some times painfully recognized....players in the field need to recognize this as a badge of honor against the other players who cower and resort to wearing sweaters and thick clothing to fend off the hits that only CQB junkies like to dish and deal!...If you still believe in playing in armor for airsoft and wanna take the sport in that direction, you might as well play paintball with that kind of mentality...you might not also feel or call all the hits if even felt at all!
Simulated airsoft combat Death is soposed to be painful!
- Lifes a Bitch and then you die!
- Cowards die many times before they actually do!
Cosplays practical aplications could be organized as themes for opposing teams, simulated and possiblly videoed airsoft battles and scenarios, Staged performances...and basic social icebreakers in gatherings.
Basic or complicated load outs of cosplay uniforms could actually run an individual quite a sum of money... as well as trips to hunt down vintage gear for further enhancement..... A realistic loadout could run the hobbist hundreds of dollars in some cases! It might seem kinda geeky but its also kinda cool to see all this interesting gear. Airsoft is indeed an expensive sport, you might as well all go the extra mile and have fun cosplaying on game day!
