| I am currently sinking in many hours of Grand Theft Auto 5 online and it's gameplay is so unstructured being a sandbox design it is in many ways like airsoft and not.
The Airsoft gear you buy and then you assemble players and try to play a game using the honor system.
In the GTA online video game freemode lobby, there may not be any organized teams at all- a free for all! and players armed may choose to kill or ally anyone in the game. The video game sets the stage for all sorts of creative interactive games and events.
In airsoft, great efforts are sometimes made to realistically stage the games but their are limits that are realistic...the honor system could still be challenged.
in the video games there may be no limits but realism may not be fully covered by the game designers as there may be glitches, hacks and bugs...there is a fact that gamers exploit radar and may disreguard some form of honor.
A lot of airsofters are in fact gamers and may list their favorite gamer scenario....How does it relate to airsoft or inspire actual airsoft games?... I see these elements rather like the simulation or chalk board that plays off the scenarios we love to play...both inspire the games we want to play and airsoft games we wish to host....look to either for good ideas. | |
