Are you allowed to take off orange tip?

I've heard that in some states it is not legal to change the orange tip, is this one of them?

lol thank you jester for that wonderful peace of imformation lol ok lets awnser that the right way this time . . yes this state is one of those states guns are not to be sold without the orange tip however because they see diffrent flashhiders people are going to wanna swap or paint over it or w.e so the one way to do it is change it and never expose your gun in public only on the playing field that way you dont have to worry about the law because they never see you breaking any
