| How about it!
This post has nothing to do with hieracrhy, bais or egos. When I say what i will say please read it with ease and understand I mean this in the most positive and enlightening way possible.
I've played "South Florida Airsoft" (If there really was such a thing!) from before I went off to college... I put in 5 years of that b.s. to come back to my hometown and realize AIRSOFT is exactly... I mean EXACTLY where I left it. The Silo has now become this new Homestead Air Force Base and it kinda works but it kinda sucks and I think we all feel this way.
I suppose it always takes somone to lead by example so I will be the first to start. Starting this weekend, I will bring a push broom (clear the main entrance for the cars! the cars roll over this bullshit and also do the main hallways. Wait... this is where the real work comes into play, I'll also bring bags, yes bags and fill these bags up with the b.s. off the floors and then throw them into a heap for what in the future will be a large truck to come pickup.
How about we put in some hours of basic work, set simple goals via the forum. Bring basic tools, use basic resources likes craigslist and make this field a little better. Some quick examples;
A. I'll bring wood for A safer bridge. B. Crowbars, lets widen those random room openings that have the metal beams that are already slightly bent so everyone can get through them safely. C. Perhaps build bridges so forest/flatland games are a little more interesting. Sometimes I dont even hide because its that uninteresting.

Thanks for your concern but this is what we have been doing since day one. We are keeping the place clean, and working do make it a better place for all the players, but his takes time weeks even months. We are working slowly at it and progressing. Also SILO has nothing to do with S.F.A.R. so please dont confuse the 2. All the members at S.F.A.R. are putting in their share to keep it a clean and safe place. But we are always open to new ideas. | I agree. Airsoft in SF has not changed since I started. And believe it or not, the Airforce base aka "sfar" will turn into a silo. Sooner or later. You guys think that its a hidden secret but its not. I've played there way before you guys even heard of it. I hope the people who think they run "sfar" realize that it will go public and everyone will go there. And also that this field is facing the same problems as silo and every other field. It would be great to see the people on here who think they own the field to realize that you guys have no control of who or how things go. You can't kick anyone out. You cant ban anyone.
Its great to see leadership and I do see it. But retract the ego please. Were're all on the same side.

| MERDOK,
I do agree in several aspects of what you said. I dont understand why do you act, I repeat, ACT as if you were intimidated or resented with the "people that THINK they run SFAR", maybe im wrong.
First of all, let me make it clear. Its not about owning or running the place, or having the authority to ban someone from it.
Its about taking LEADERSHIP and ACTION towards the well being of the place for the players and the future players. And believe me, there is a group of people that take trash bags every SAT and SUN and at the end of the day THEY CLEAN UP, compared with silo, which I never saw a garbage can or at least LEADERSHIP of having the place clean or in order.
SO NEXT TIME YOU REFER TO PEOPLE AS IF "THEY RUN THE FIELD", THINK IT TWICE BEFORE YOU EXPRESS WHAT YOU FEEL.
BECAUSE ONE THING IS WHAT YOU FEEL, AND ANOTHER IS DOING WHAT IS RIGHT FOR THE WELL BEING OF ALL THE PLAYERS.
If you feel by any means that someone rules or governs the place, next time go around introducing yourself and make friends, and THEN see for yourself our attitudes, which is a friendly, welcoming and helpfull one.
WE AS A TEAM WANT THE BEST FOR OUR GAMES, NOT A DICTATORSHIP OF WHO PLAYS ON EACH TEAM OR WHO IS WELCOME.
BUT ONE THIS IS FOR SURE.
PEOPLE THAT WILL COME WITH ATTITUDE AND THE MENTALITY OF TRASHING THE PLACE AND RELATIONSHIPS, -------BEWARE BECAUSE THE MAYORITIY ALWAYS WIN----
MERDOK, LOOKING FORWARD IN MEETING YOU, AND PLAYING AIRSOFT WITH YOU..
HAVE A GREAT DAY.
THATS ALL I HAVE TO SAY | |

You are in fact incorrect. There is nothing intimidating about sfar or its players. Your whole speech with capital letters was directed at a small part of my post. My point was that the airforce base will sooner or later turn public and to be ready for the onslaught of players who want to "trash relationships" because I've witnessed it first hand with Silo and Siloairsoft.com. I noticed how the field turned from 10-15 persons game to 20-40. My point about the "people who think they run sfar" is only opinion, obviously. But its shared by quite a few who visit this forum and field. Its nothing personal. Just what I've noticed from reading on this forum and with your CAPS LOCK TURNED ON FOR HALF YOUR POST. This forum gives a dictatorship vibe. Its again, obvious. I too look forward to shooting plastic with you. Till next time.

the reason for the caps, He seems to have an issue with Harold AKA NOBODY from the past. I myself stop playing at SILO due to the trash and enviroment that played there. We came to SFAR or Homestead Airforce or what ever you want to call it. Yes we know people use to play there befoe we got there and yes its a public place ( really its MIAMI-DADE property) and if we let it get like silo, ther will close it down too. The difference is that if SFAR is shut down, we can go any where else cause it stands for SOUTH FLORIDA AIRSOFT RESERVE and our website is airsoftreserve.com un like silo when it got closed not much use for silo's website unless they find another silo
thanks for the sugestions you mentioned. How we are doing it is each squads leader should be rsponsible for ensuring that they keep thier area clean. Mostly everyone is adults there so we should not have to tell anyone to do whats right.

ITS FUNNY HOW INDIVIDUALS GET IDEAS OF CAPITAL LETTER BEING SORT OF DICTATIORSHIP.
SEABEE I HOPE YOU DONT GET OFFENDED WITH MY CAPS. LOL
I WRITE IN CAPS BECAUSE ITS EASIER TO READ AND HIGHLIGHTS IMPORTANT FACTS.
ITS NOT IMPLEMENTED TO "SHOUT" OR TO "INTIMIDATE".
REMEMBER THE WORLD YOU SEE IS HOW YOUR EYES PERCIEVE IT.
WITH THIS SAID.
I WILL FOCUS MY TIME IN OTHER IMPORTANT MATTERS.

Its great to see leadership and I do see it. But retract the ego please. We're all on the same side. Merdok, We are not facing the problems you were facing at SILO, 1st Metro Dade Police know we are there, 2nd the security company that is hired by Metro Dade knows we are also there. It would take another SILO to have us kicked out and that is why all the members play their part in keeping the grounds cleaned and preventing any reasons for us to get kicked out. I would also recommend you stop harassing the members of this forum since you really ain't got a place to play anymore other than S.F.A.R. for now. Make it easy on yourself and avoid being not wanted at S.F.A.R. No one has an ego nor do they tell anyone what they can and can not do other than to play by the rules. So far all the members are respectful towards each other at S.F.A.R. and we don't appreciate your bitterness. Be glad there's another forum and field for all the players now that SILO is closed. Glad I did not take your advise to take down this forum when you said why would you create another forum? there's already a SILO and you where 99.9% that SILO was not being targeted by the authorities. I am sorry about the SILO, you and me go back a while since US27, lets please keep it like that and I am also asking you to respect the members of this forum. Come out, play with us, enjoy and make new friends, we even got the hot dog vendor there. Regards, NOBODY

| Most of the time I see these posts and I just read and laugh. Mostly cause I think you all are kidding yourselves. You really should be counting down the days cause it will happen. For so many many years we thought we had this attitude of invinciblity at silo, and look at us now. Silo didn't get shutdown cause of trash, it got shut down cause we played on government property, same as youse guys. The cops knew people played at SiLo but when the time came, that really didn't matter. I think it would serve you to have a more cautious attitude, cause if you think keeping the place clean will keep the authorities out, well you'll have another thing coming.
Wow so if SFAR gets shut down you'll be able to go anywhere, cause it's SFAR? lol. We started siloairsoft.com to serve a purpose and it has done so very well, but if the day comes when the forum is no longer active or needed, then it will just go away, no big deal, i've been around long enough to see this happen and I also know that life goes on.
You say your not having the same problems we had at silo? Look around cause I'd say your forum says otherwise.
So what's gonna happen when SFAR becomes another silo? Cause it will, you may not know it yet but it will. You guys gonna just pick up and leave to find another place? Funny thing you guys that played at Silo and left, how long did you play there? Did you try and make the place any better? I mean only a few stuck with it and tried to make it a better place. Take Seabee for an example, I met you once, you came and setup your stuff in the middle of the playing field isolating yourselves from everybody else, did you even try and mingle with the rest of the players? you just decided that it wasn't worth your time after playing there for what a month? If that?
And do I really care if you all like me? no. Does merdok really care if you all like him? no. Cause in the end if I wanna go down and play there who is gonna stop me?
And I'm sure someone will cook up this "probably has a problem with Nobody" business, and I don't, he is a cool guy and I respect him and what he is trying to do. Good luck.

| Hello again
Back to square one with my lovely airsoft friends. So I wasn't comparing Silo to Air Force Base, I do understand that we are protected from Miami Dade authorities and I DO NOT worry about the livelihood of the field as NO ONE should, after all... It is no ones field but good ol' Uncle Sam
I dont care who owns the field, I dont care about who runs the field, because nobody (not you nobody) tells me what or how to do it, and respectfully, that goes for each and everyone of us. We are all grown ass men, with the exception of a couple young-ins.
With that said...CAPS for respectful purposes IS TOO NOT ONLY CLEAN THE FIELD, BUT HAVE IT GROW... for all of us the improvements would make it more dynamic.
I have a aggreement with the owner of Midas car repair here in all of South Florida. He agreed to donate every last one of his old tires from any of his facilities for additional bunker placement. We stack them, throw a wooden crate aside it, fill the tires with dirt (aka shovel) and we have ourselves some additional bunkers... Right now the woodland field games are terribly boring and untactical, we might as well be storming the shores of South beach with no cover and such (its ok to try n make airsoft guys laugh yes). =)
Please create another post if the conversation is going to divert to ownership and field rights/ownership confusion... This was to simply see if anyone... as in votes or a small rally could collectively come together to work on the field a couple of hours each weekend, it was that simple and innocent.
All in all I've enjoyed playing with all you guys! SFAR you guys are developing quite nicely, keep it going!

| Jolly, The reason I would set up in front of the building was cause we arrived at 7am to play wth our kids, buts once everyone else started to arrive, we would either move to the entrance or go to the back to keep playin with our kids, that was my whole group. Once my kids got use to playingg airsoft, I would set up with everyone.
we have been playing at the AF base for 5 months now and yes I did only play for a little over a month at Silo, And in 5 mths I have not seen the same shit that I saw in SILO in 1. Thats why I stopped going. I stillwould go to silo every once in a while but I prefer driving 30 min rather than 10 to the silo and enjoy a full day of playing than a full day of arguing.
Also what I do see since SILO closed down, more and more people have been registering here and showing up to SFAR. and according to the ones I have met already, they say its alot better

| well i do agree with jolly, sooner or later sfar will shut down, not because of trash or anything but because its owned by gov't and its not doing anything there. theyll prolly tear it down to build something else. but i dont see that coming for a bit so im gonna enjoy every last second....
as for whats next for a new field in the future, well were grown ass men with jobs why dont we all chip in some money every month or something and see if we can rent or buy a sanctioned field? sure it sounds like a fantasy but everythings possible if you put your mind to it. once its open we can charge 7 bucks to play or a monthly fee..... just a thought
as for the tires, sounds great 305!!
i agree the field games are a little too boring.

| I didnt want to say it yet but, I myself am in the process in buying a property on Krome near 136 st. I am looking into a 5 acre lot with entrances on both front and back. Which means dont have to have any one parking in my front lawn. I wont be charging anyone to play so this way it cant be considered a buisness and they cant shut it down for me having friends over and playing airsoft in my back yard. But I will be getting work partys together to set it up. Here are some of the things I want to do on it Sand bag bunkers small enclosures made out of wood and brick sniper towers place screens seperating the field from the residence. (dont need my wife bitching about BBs all over the place. I already hear that about the garage) Through a Slab of cement in staging Make a small gazebo in the staging area with picnic tables. placing county trash cans in staging also placing a net around staging so anyone not playing can be safe. every one has been asking for an oportunity like this. An actual field where everyone can enjoy the day with worring. All I ask is then when its up, what ever you can help with, please do. Everyone is welcomed to play as long as we play fair and safe. keep the place clean | |

| We dont have to count nothing down! Look that attitude of invinciblity has been there for many years and has even started to roll over to SFAR. You go to SFAR and you can tell apart who is from silo and who is not because of that attitude on the field and in the parking lots. That is why many people did not like the SILO in the first place. Silo of course did not get shut down cause of the trash they dont care about the trash all they got to do is get some CONS from prison and they would have that place like new in a week. What got silo close was all the reports and problems that were going on their many in which have nothing to do with airsoft or even paintball players. People where burning cars even fireing live gun and also the cars that were parked along side krome only like five feet from the road things like that which build up and piss off cops. But thats besides the point it closed and thats it. Now at SFAR we all got to come togather and take care of the place cause we are in a different position here. We are allowed to play there if we keep the place clean and no one does anything stupid. Those are the things that the officer said we need to do to play there a very long time so unless something like someone gets hurt and the cops come or any issue like that there is no way that we can get shut down. Also remenber that while we are playing at SFAR we are doing a favor to the cops and security cause while we are there they dont have to worry about who is doing what in the building cause the punks see us and stay away.
Also 305 thanks for the idea and the want to make it better and not just complain and think about the end of days lol but yes i think the tires can serve as a good bunker for field games so if you can get them to the field im sure that everyone would help you in unloading and putting them where they will serve as bunkers
Also I want to know in what way will SFAR become like silo?? What we will have trash everywhere people are going to start fighting more people not calling hits what??? Cause we have a very big group of people that will not stand for that and will do anything and everything in their power to not let SFAR become anything like SILO was. Also i dont know if its clear or not but its been said before no one out there has one inch of more power then anyone else out there unless your the officer that lets us play there But majority always wins!

LETS NOT SAY YOU DID THIS OR WAY BACK WHEN YOU WENT TO SILO.... WHATEVER
THE PRESENT IS THAT THE CURRENT PLACE IS NOT CLOSE YET. LETS KEEP IT CLEAN (FOR HYIGENE PURPOSES)
AND FOR ALL OF THOSE BITCHING AND WINNNING.....
DO SOMETHING BETTER BESIDES IT. ----------
JOLLY, why do you take it so personal if you havent even been at SFAR? None of us has said bad things about you or referred to you. When people in this forum (which is maybe 3 or 5 individuals only, thats about 2% of the SFAR players) talk about silo they might be refering to someone else. Or do you take it personal because you were running SILO? I dont think so. I know for a fact that about 20 of my friends that go every Sunday and some Sat to SFAR , have never comented in this forum. So in conclusion you are making a big deal of small chit chat comments, come down to play and I know your attitude will change.
MERDOK, last sunday you played with everyone of us and had no problems, not that i know, and for a fact none of us dictated something or act as if they were the owners, we did lay down the rules and the scenarios accepted by both teams playing.....
and one thing is this forum (how someone writes), and one thing is how someone acts, which is more importat. You came with a friend and you were more than welcomed.
We dont run SFAR or whatever you want to call it,
BUT WE DO WANT TO MANTAIN IT AS A GROUP, I REPEAT AS A GROUP, THIS INCLUDES ALL THE ONES THAT WANT TO BEST FOR THE GAME, NOT THE ONES THAT WERE THERE FIRST OR THE ONES THAT PICK UP THE TRASH... EVERYONE IS WELCOMED INCLUDING MYSELF, INCLUDING THE HATERS AND THE WINNERS, (of course if you want to be part of it, if not keep playing Call of Duty or Halo etc)

| It's funny how some of you gentlemen think or find comfort believing that some minimum waged security officer "lets" you guys play there and everything is fine and dandy. I hope its a joke, I seriously do. The government doesn't care if LEO knows or lets you play there. When Homeland Security rolls up in their black suv's handing out warnings and taking down names lets see if that cool chubby security officer will bail all you guys out.
And Ariel, you must be the most misinformed person on this forum. You guys are not allowed to be on that property. YOUR TRESPASSING! Do you tell these new players that? I keep hearing you say that "Were're allowed" and its frightening. I just hope every little kid that comes on here saying " Hey I'm 14 and I heard of this cool field" knows that they might go to jail.
Jolly is right. I honestly don't care what most if not all of you think of me. I care about the betterment of airsoft in SF. You guys say you care? You guys preach about unity and team work? Then look at Silo as an example and stop playing there! Save yourselves from possible jail time.
@Blackhawk, "AND FOR ALL OF THOSE BITCHING AND WINNNING.....DO SOMETHING BETTER BESIDES IT."
What do you call your post? Informative? More of a rant than anything.
Lets just all pray that Shooters plans go through with the county and EVERYONE can have a true sanctioned field with admins and ran by people who are truly looking out for the airsoft community.

| HAHAHA im the most misinformed person on this site you say right merdok. Well its funny how im the most misinformed when i was there the first time metro dade came and talked to us and left with out a problem and im the most misinformed because i was their when the officer introduced himself to us and told us that we will not have any problems in which we havent had any. Its funny how im the most misinformed on the this forum when i was there all the times that the security or anytype of lawinforcement has been present in which each case there has been no talk of us not being able to play there. Where were you?? Not there but im the most misinformed right But maybe your just mad cause you were the one getting rolled up by homeland while we were playing all day and enjoying ourselfs. Look even if one day we were to get banned from SFAR it wouldent be the way they banned people from the silo. It would be like how it happen a couple of weeks ago when the officer came by and told us to shut down because the president was in the area along with secret service and he did not want to have any problems with them.So if that one day does come that we can not play at SFAR anymore it wont be like how they did you over there. It would be nice and peaceful no one takeing names or handing out nothing so please dont come on here talking about someone getting arrested and trying to put fear in the minds of the players that play at SFAR cause its not working | |

| Merdock,
you have posted in this forum 8 times, and every one of them you have a problem with something.
Why do you take it so personal? If you have a problem, instead of expressing in this forum, why dont you approach us this Sunday and discuss issues like a diplomat man. We are willing to hear what you have to say.
It seems you get irritated on the way you express yourself always shooting right back on what is said to you.
Stop being a pain in the ass and be a team player.

| he just mad that SILO got closed and he told NOBODY when he created the site, that why did he do it there was already silo website for airsoft in south FLA. he needs to take is RANTS somewhere else. Stop trying to bring down something just cause you lost yours. We ae here to have a good time. not to listen to you bitc and complain about when we get kicked out. As it stands, I have been there in several occasions when Metro has shown up. first time he had his gun drawn and there was 3 of us adult plus my 2 boys. We said it was airsoftguns, he checked the out and called off back up. second time was when FEICK Security when to kick us out, several of us spoke to him and after a bit, he said i was cool. Metro knows, we are there, Fieck Knows we are there, 2 weeks ago Secret Service knew we were there, and still we manage to play with out incidents. It guys like you MERDOK thats jus dying for shit to happen to say " I TOLD YOU SO" I know you have a problem with NOBODY but damn GROW UP | |
