my gearbox sounds HORRIBLE!!!

sounds like it needs to desperately be shimmed or something... it made a very sharp screeching noise when i tried to fire it, rate of fire turned to absolute sh*t. then made a noise in the gearbox. it still fired, but i didn't dare shoot anymore bb's.

please somebody help.

on what gun?

you could have either stripped some teeth on the motors pinion gear, or stripped some stuff in the gearbox.

since its an mp5 try checking motor height, you might need to adjust it

well if something is stripped, the costs could differ according to what is stripped.

motor=30+

Gears=30-45+

piston=15=30 dollars.



honestly if it still shot just slow as hell, the its most likely the motor. it could be either fried or it has a stripped pinion gear.

usually if the piston or gears strip, all you'd hear would be the loud screeching and no shots

I doubt anythings broken considering the battery ur running its probly just the motor height if it is highpitched

I would think you would need to re-shim the gearbox. The height on the gears could definitely contribute to a problem in both ROF or firing at all. But since you really don't have any clue to it, you should go to a professional (sikes)

it sounds a LOT better now that im adjusting the motor height. hopefully that is all and if it isn't i will let you guys know.

Just mess around with it. U dont want a high pitched sound. Just think about how ur gun sounded b4 and the rof it had and play around with it till u get a similar sound

does anyone know if the motor is not adjusted correctly, will it make a weirdish vibrating feeling in the grip?

It depends is the motor of your gun on the pistol grip. Also my friends gun makes a wierd screching noise but when he opened it turned out one of the gear had slid out of place. It could be that?

Mess around with the height/bushings till you get smooth turns out of all the gears. Remember, when you shim the gearbox, you try to make the gears as smooth as possible, so there is less resistance between the motor and piston. Also, keep in mind the SPUR gear should be kept as low as possible, so you wanna keep maybe 0.1 mm bushing on that. Obviously, if it starts to grind, just add more bushings till its smooth as possilble.
