| I have a 7.4v Lipo 3000mAh 30C and I wanna put tamiyas on it (it has rc car connectors). I have a tamiya with 16AWG (american Wire Guage) and I wanna know if that can be put safely on the Lipo's 12AWG wire.

| You got that battery from danny on my squad right? Solder to deans. Tamiyas suck and will loosen up with time.
I have the same battery and im going to be using deans with it. Not to sure if you can solder 12g to 16g but i dont see why not. Test it on the gun with a fuse, better to be safe then sorry. | |

| not to rain on your parade. but i would go with deans. i have tamiyas on all my lipos and sometimes i regret it. the only plus is all my guns have tamiyas on them.
the big wires chaffe and sometimes just cut themselves off from the rest of the plug. this is all from use. battery in and out of guns just wears the big wires down near the tamiya inserts and cuts the wire.I have also had some bad shorts. if you noticed when using tamiyas than the female and male inserts move within the connectors. i am sure you understand if you used tamiyas for a long period of time.Well anyways I was playing one time heard a pop. thought it was a body pin. kept playing heard rapid pops then i stopped playing because i smelt burning. tamiyas literaly melted. MELTED. as in a nice pile of mush that i could manipulate with my fingers. battery swelled a little, got me a little nervous. i still do play with tamiyas but i do suggest buying thick ones that have low tolerences. like the ones that are hard to fit togethor. I found some nice ones at warricks on university drive in davie.
