| I have realized that we all love to somehow visaulize ourselves in a higher state of combat, but this is a perfect example as to why to leave the patches of Military Ranks to those that have earned it and to why not to name your group..."SEAL Team Six" http://www.duffelblog.com/2012/05/fake-teen-navy-seal-rescued-in-yemen-by-real-navy-seals/Now, as to whether or not the article is true...I rather not take my chances. I will stick to R.A.T. (Rapid Assault Team). And you guys make your own decisions. To those that have earned their Ranks...thanks for all of your effort, we can never trully repay you. | |

| calm down LOL it's not true. Although I could think of a few "keyboard commandos" that basically copy all of Seal Team Six' work | |

| Duffleblog is a joke...a parody website. None of the information is meant to be taken seriously. It even states that on the website.
"The content of this site is parody. No composition should be regarded as truthful, and no reference of an individual, company, or military unit seeks to inflict malice or emotional harm."

| it's fake, but nonetheless it's annoying when people run out airsofting with patches and such to make themselves seem like a real live division, company, etc.
it's too damn hot to even wear all that combat uniform!

it's too damn hot to even wear all that combat uniform! Yeah, you're right. Running around with "real looking" uniforms and "real looking" vests and "real looking" patches and "real looking weapons. From now on I'm playing in a chicken suit with a nerf gun because that's why we call it mil-sim.

Now, as to whether or not the article is true...I rather not take my chances. I will stick to R.A.T. (Rapid Assault Team). And you guys make your own decisions. To those that have earned their Ranks...thanks for all of your effort, we can never trully repay you. first off, no body cares. my uniform is as real as it gets, my badges, my rank, my unit. none if its real. ive even worn it in public after games and not one person has stopped me and asked if its real or not. ive even asked real soldiers how stuff is supposed to look, and they help me make mine look as real as i can get.
second off, mirko is right. 90% of airsoft is replicating the real thing, so i highly doubt anyone will care about a uniform looking like the real deal. were not going to basic. its not like were actually training for any type of war in any way shape or form.
if ur retarded and go around saying that ur in the army and use the uniform to make people believe you, then i understand. but cmon people this is airsoft its SUPPOSED TO REPLICATE THE REAL THING!!!!!!

| lol! nice meme. i don't mind the realism of the weapons, uniform, etc. I love that part, which is why i want a gas blowback rifle. the only thing that bugs me is, like you said, people sporting real life military insignia that they didn't earn. (like seal team 6, 1st division) i understand that mil-sim is MIL-SIM and thats how it's supposed to be | |

my unit/rank was not decided to make myself part of some bad Culo group. my unit, 192nd infantry, was decided because i like it. i also have a raider tab, because im usually the first one in when my team breaches a door. my rank symbolizes that i have more experience than other members of my group. i use the real deal for my own groups purposes because they work.

| And i still say leave the ranks to those that have earned theirs. And Ebola, would you happen to know any Milsim events nearby? All I can find are Mindgame Productions and they do all their stuff in Orlando and I missed DV8 when Streets, SOG, and PMC went...work really sucks my time up...specially when I only work weekends. | |

| I hope all of you guys know I always write in this forum for fun eventhough I never have nor ever will ad "LOL" to the end of any post and eventhough we scream at each other and sometimes it gets intense in the field, once we walk out to hydrate and reload, I will always shake your hand. Glad to see this post go to a mutual understanding as it should always be. BOOM! | |
