| Hey guy. I know I'm fairly new to the forum and 8-14-10 was my first time going airsofting with everyone, But there is one thing that could be very dangerous. dehydration. Today was EXTREMELY hot and humid and all of us were sweating like pigs with our gear. I heard that one person actually passed out and I could feel it creeping up on me as well(even though i was drinking water) but to the point of this whole rant. STAY HYDRATED NO MATTER WHAT. if you feel like your dizzy or lightheaded sit down, drink lots of fluids and tell someone. I love to airsoft but safety comes first. you can't airsoft if your face first in the dirt all because you didn't drink some water/gatoraid ect. | |

| Stay Hydrated.
I would hate to enter a field on one game day only to find a hidden player in my sniping spot that died after passing out clutching rifle in his last fixed position! death pose!
Found dead several days later....!
The deadly heat is really the hidden sniper and is quite relentless. | |

| Yea i started getting lightheaded when we were standing around doing nothing so i drank water and started a match and personally i think that worked for me(I never drink a lot of water which is bad). Just dont drink too much water and go running off because you might get a nasty cramp. | |

| the best thing to do is start hydrating 24 hours before the game. drink 1 gatorade for every 2 waters. | |

| For people that do not take this seriously consider this point of view. If someone passes out and needs medical attention, 911 will be informed, then police officers and rescue personnel will come to the place and will thus hinder the field. You want to keep playing there, then stay hydrated.
How much is proper hydration? Drink 2 to 4 quarts of water the day before. When playing, then drink 2 quarts of water every hour if you are conducting some physical excerption. Also, take into consideration the work/rest ratio: with 90 degree heat and humidity close to 100%, the work/rest ratio should be close to 45 minutes work, 15 minutes rest. Therefore you guys should adapt your games accordingly.
My recommendation, (other than staying hydrated and using proper work/rest ratio) designate somebody to bring a cooler with ice sheets. This is, towels or sheets layered with ice in between the different layers. If somebody goes down with heat exhaustion then place these sheets around the person neck, armpits, and groin so as to cool off the body.
If you start sweating like a pig, then drink lots of water; however if you STOP SWEATING, then find some shade and drink MORE water, do not continue playing!!!......early signs of dehydration and heat exhaustion include the above mentioned, plus seeing black dots, feeling dizzy and confused, and of course feeling thirsty.
Hopefully these tips are helpful.
Stay safe out there. | |

| Best way to stay cool... Don't run around as much until it's time. wear light colored clothing, drink lots of tea, wear a proper turban, travel by camel and always by night. Pray to God....Blessings for AK47-74/ RPG If you think you are gonna die ...Strike One Last Time! (Taliban code of fighting!) | |
