| Subject: I used to have a SR25 A&K - FYI Information about v.2 extended gearbox Mon Jan 30, 2012 11:27 pm | |
| FYI, SR25 have a extended version 2 gearbox. If you put a regular version 2 it won't work. SR25 have a different cylinder size & piston size then regular version 2, all other parts are same. A&K SR25 Quote from: Airsoft Retreat Review - Quote :
- Internals
The gun uses an extended V2 gearbox like other SR-25's, such as the G&P. While the box appears similar to a standard V2, it is considerably longer than the normal V2's. Because of this, not 100% of the parts are compatible with normal V2 parts. I know that the G&P uses a standard non extended version 2 gear box, but I think you will benefit in range & fps with another brand (A&K, CA, & G&G) that uses the extended gearbox. Due to the larger cylinder, more air = more fps = more range. Also you could save a lot more money on a build like this and use it for upgrades like new bucking, TBB 6.01, ext... Food for thought. | |

| No dude, this uses a regular v2 gearbox. It has an elongated hop up. | |

| Yes I did state that the G&P was a regular v.2, but did not know about the extended hopup. I think if you get a SR25 that uses a "extended version 2 gearbox" not hopup. Like the A&K, CA, or a G&G, you would benefit more with the larger cylnder for your DMR. Also you would be saving alot of money for upgrades. This was the main point I was trying to point out. | |

| if the gun has a normal version 2 gearbox don't buy it. sr25 with the elongated gearboxes are better. more compression and better range.... there are just better everything. i have a ca sr-25 that has everything known to man in it. take it from me i have the thing running at 550fps with .2's the deviation is 3 fps at it's max. CA is just better G&G have speacial parts in their guns which are weak and expensive and hard to come by. if you have questions on builds with the sr-25 ask me i have done it all to that gun. | |
